In this spinoff from the April Almighty series, the Happytown clowns are back! The clowns are more terrifying than ever and ready to spin their own tale of death and mayhem. Icy Kate is on the the loose after escaping from Jericho Systems. Her mentor, Mad Maxwell is imprisoned somewhere beneath one of Jericho’s facilities.
Nolan Collinsworth is a washed up child actor. Now 45 years old, he’s hanging on to what little celebrity he has left. After accepting an invite to a horror convention in Odessa, Texas he thinks he’s on the way to a comeback. Except Icy Kate and her band of clowns decides to crash the convention, turning it in to her own personal Funhouse of horrors.
Damien Carter is a Tracker with Jericho Systems. The only way he can stop Katy is with the help of Mad Maxwell. Can he get inside the deranged clown’s head in time to find Katy and save the people of Odessa? Or will Mad Maxwell turn him into a pawn in another of his silly games?

First, meet Nolan, a child actor from a famous horror movie called Family Night (!!). Let’s just say Nolan has not has as successful or fulfilling of an adult life as his childhood acting career might have suggested. Maybe a horror convention would help Nolan feel like a celebrity again for at least a couple of days…Then meet Ice Katy and her family of misfit psychopath nonhuman clowns-and then HOLD ON for some major horror, violence beyond one’s imagination, humor, gore, helicopters, flamethrowers, amazing action scenes that include everyone from the average citizen to army rangers, and of course, clowns! Don’t relax yet because then we meet Mad Maxwell, and he reunites with Katy for some real carnage, oh but Max has some plans of his own too.
Clown Apocalypse equaled excellent chaos, leaving me with a new fear of clowns of any shape and age, maybe cops, possibly even Ronald McDonald, and most definitely Craig’s List! Highly recommend to all fans of modern horror!

Finally my schedule cleared up and I could dive back into one of my favorite and most fun authors, the always excellent and high-as a kite-ly entertaining, Tim 'The Mad Hatter' Miller.
Always very shocking too, but NOT just shock for the sake of shock, which is very important!
Great storytelling, well rounded and written characters are always first with him.....then, and only then, he takes it over the edge....and the fall is simply exhilarating.
Clown Apocalypse is a stand alone story that follows the misadventures and misdeeds of a couple evil clown characters from his super fantastic April Almighty series. For me it was totally more enjoyable having read those awesome books beforehand but definitely not necessary at all.
It opens with a 45 year old man named Nolan, a faded child star looking to reclaim or cash in on his former fame.
He played the son in the horror movie Family Night which happens to be another Tim Miller book.
His agent talks him into attending a horror convention in Odessa, Texas. Reluctantly, he agrees.
Yuck conventions, he thinks ~ ooooh if only he knew of the buckets of fun to cum.
Our resident psycho clown - the nefarious and self appointed patriarch of the otherworldly clown community - Mad Maxwell has been not so unwillingly trapped up in the sinister Jericho's department facility just waiting for the right moment to reunite with his ladylove and protégé Icy Kate.
We only got a small taste of Max at the end of the April series, so glad he's back, cause he was an extreme badass!
Icy Kate, having already escaped the Jericho's -not so very- holding center, discovers a rather new skill of hers and she pleasures in her newfound skirt lifting juicy talents.
She once used to be human but was put through a clown making process at Max's -not so gentle or caressing- hands.
She was a deplorable human to begin with and made for an even more sadistic clown creation.
Also she was the main character of a completely separate Miller book but I don't wanna give that away.
You just gotta read them all!! You'll find it. D
Icy Kate has been biding her time without her maker, utilizing the often questionable Craigslist to turn tricks and make babies, building her brood of happy horny clown spawn.
The gestation period of the female clown does not take too long, so don't blink!
These clowns definitely ain't your garden kid party variety that doting parents would hire. They would take the job however, if offered....or stumbled upon. Because they love to play.
Her and her -waaay- offspring of demon babies decide to crash that convention, and crash and smash it, they do. Our happy go lucky clown carnage crew are ready for some gaming.
Much chaos ensues and oozes, unwilling procreations and backdoor molestations, parlor tricks for pricks, pin the tails on the honky's, severed limb flinging and flogging races.
Oooh all the eye popping and plopping sights and sounds to be had.....and never repressed if you're one of the lucky ones.
Due to Tim's extreme graphicness and stellar writing skills, he puts you right there....in the middle of it all.
He does keep you safe though....well, kind of.
Also in the mix-up mash-up is Damien, Jericho bounty hunter, killer of clowns and to make his mission harder....enter the cavalry who are a bit outta their league, refusing to believe or buy into the hype of it all.
To them 'The Ronald McDonalds' are just revolting and maybe on PCP, how else to explain all that strength that seem to have.
Well, obviously, the so called cavalry don't fare too well but do make for some fun play things for our merry little mischievous clowns' escapades.
Poor Nolan, watches on in a shell shocked state at all the rampaging, flying bodily fluids, and forced romantic gestures of hanky panky couplings being presented to him in gruesome and glorious 3D technicolor.
And here he thought conventions were boring..
I love it so much when authors intertwine their stories in different books, reuse and abuse their characters around in other delightfully devious ways.
How clever and what a treat for all us hardcore fans.
Just amazingly awesome, I've noticed this quite a lot with Mr. Miller's unique style and vision.
How he keeps it all straight and yet very jagged and crooked at the same time is without a doubt impressive.
And he is the funniest and sweetest guy, ALWAYS makes time for his fans.
Tim Miller ~ I've said it before and it warrants it again aaaand probably always will ~ THE nicest guy with a heart of pure golden filth.
Yea, I think he's stuck with that tagline. You're welcome Mr. Miller! hahaha
Tim Miller is the king of gore witin the writing realm. This book will keep you wanting to know more. Bravo Tim.
Ok read weakest and quickest of the series...but still entertaining .
It's gory and hardcore. And the clown thing is definitely s good horror play. Interesting story. I'd assume there are going to be sequels. Only 4 as it just ended. There needs to be more wrap up for me as I said I'd assume there will be sequels but the book can't stand alone.
Tim has done it again. I can't wait for more Mad Maxwell and Icy Kate and family. If you like horror and violence read this book, You need to read all of his books and should read all of the books that go with this one even though it is and can be a stand alone story. I was great adding in Matt Shaw. Thanks Tim.
Tim brings a special kind of crazy to this book, the sick and twisted kind!! I've never liked clowns so this book was like my nightmares playing out on the pages only I don't have the imagination Tim does so his story is a lot worse!! This book makes my fear of clowns totally rational!! It's like a horror movie I would be afraid to dream up and as I read, it's taking place in my mind!! I've read several of Tim's book and I have not been disappointed in any of them, so if you like this book make sure you check out his other books, just be warned that this is not sunshine and balloon animals, it's murder and mayhem and all kinds of demented stuff, just the way I love my horror!! I definitely recommend this book and Tim's other books too!!
If you're like me, you finished the April Almighty series and wanted more. If you haven't read the April series, you really should, but because it's good. If you don't want to you, you can still keep up with the events of Clown Apocalypse and I guarantee you'll want to read them later.
Mad Maxwell and Icy Kate are back! Think of them as Tim Miller's version of the Joker and Harley Quinn. Maxwell was captured and locked away in secure, underground prison run by Jericho Systems. Icy Kate, however, is free and learning all she can about being a clown since she is only recently turned. Kate and her newly created family are ready to have some fun and they have set their sights on a horror convention that features one of our main characters Nolan. He's a former child actor and he's about to wish he turned down this convention.
On the trail of Icy Kate is a Jericho Systems Tracker named Damien. He is determined to find her and stop her. But Mad Maxwell would also like to find his love, Icy. Can he escape his plastic box and reunite with her? Will Damien stop Icy? Will Nolan survive....

Tim Miller takes all that was great and weird about Welcome to Happytown (April Almighty Book Two) and multiplies it by ten. It's full of sex, blood, and clown craziness. Icy Kate and Mad Maxwell are villains you can't help but love and Tim was smart for bringing them back. This was a great spinoff and great book.
